Prior to having the wonderful opportunity to be part of the Scripps Healthcare team, Tim had a tremendously diverse career ranging from working on the recovery of the space shuttle Challenger to building the first LEED certified acute care hospital in California.

After 24 years of active duty, Tim retired from the Navy in 2001. Tim had an extremely varied Navy career including rewarding tours in nuclear submarines, conventional surface ships, Naval Special Warfare and command of a warship. Upon retiring from the Navy, Tim went to work for a defense contractor as a Port Engineer for the Navy.

Making a significant career shift in 2003, Tim went to work for Rady Children’s Hospital – San Diego and spent 10 years at Rady’s as Vice President of Facilities, Design, Construction, Plant Operations and Maintenance. Tim has also held the same position at The University of Tennessee Medical Center, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and Children’s Hospital and Medical Center in Omaha.

Tim is a graduate of the University of the State of New York and the Naval War College as well as numerous Navy technical and leadership schools. He also holds a California General Contractors “B” license and is a Design Build Institute of America certified professional.
