Class 1930, C. Greg Walsh (FAIA, 1992) is the quiet design protagonist behind many landmarks built in Southern California and beyond since the mid-1960s. A native Angeleno, Walsh attended the USC, where his mentor Calvin Straub had great influence on him and where he had as a classmate Frank Gehry. Following his apprenticeship at Welton Becket and Victor Gruen, he formed a partnership with Gehry that lasted till the early 1990s. His design involvements include the Danziger Studio in Los Angeles, the Schnabel House in Brentwood, and the Vitra Design Museum in Weil am Rhein, and, among others. As a design teacher, he has influenced generations of architects currently in practice.
