The goal of this course is to provide an overview of prefabrication, basic design principles, and how prefabrication expands upon the capabilities and experiences of traditional, site-based construction. The course also provides insights on how the use of technology is optimizing the process, and how design professionals can begin taking advantage of the many benefits of prefabricated construction for their residential projects. The design criteria are intended to be used as early in the design and planning process as possible, particularly before engineering is completed as engineering for prefab differs from that of site-based construction.
