Speaker Bio
Nick co-founded Hopson Rodstrom Design in 2015 with the goal of transforming the lives of the clients, users and inhabitants of projects via thoughtful, practical and beautiful design. With more than 17 years experience in Southern California on a broad range of project scales and typologies, Nick has a proven track record of delivering successful projects that elevate beyond the original intent. Nick's infectious optimism and intuitive, flexible approach to the design process translate to positive results.

Prior to founding Hopson Rodstrom Design, Nick gained experience with a number of award-winning design practices in Los Angeles and New York, most notably as Studio Director at Lorcan O'Herlihy Architects (LOHA). There Nick oversaw a number of high-profile projects including several affordable housing developments, numerous multi-family housing and mixed-use developments, as well as commercial, civic, institutional and exhibition work. His contributions to projects and the practice played a key role in the firm being selected the #1 design firm in the US by Architect Magazine in 2018.

Nick teaches third-year studio at Cal Poly Pomona and is frequently a guest critic on reviews at USC, Woodbury and beyond. He participated in USC Architecture's Generation Next series in 2019 and has spoken on panels with The LA Forum for Architecture and Urban Design.
