Linda Taylor founded Taylor Design in 1979, served as president for 25 years, chairman for 12 years, and continues to serve on the Board of Directors. Linda is best known for her work in healthcare projects, but she created and built a firm with a reputation for design excellence encompassing a wide range of architectural project types. Building on Linda’s foundation of an inclusive and diverse employee culture and a mission of “Design That Empowers People,” Taylor Design is increasingly recognized as an industry leader with expertise in architectural design, Interior Design, Planning, Data Analytics, and delivered from five California offices. Linda is a licensed architect and LEED Accredited Professional, having earned her bachelor's degree and master’s degree in Architecture from UC Berkeley. She studied under Sim Van der Ryn, an early advocate for sustainable design.
Linda was President of the Orange County Chapter of AIA, and a board member of the AIACalifornia Council. She served on the advisory councils for Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and Orange Coast College and was a founding member of the American College of Healthcare Architects (ACHA). Linda was awarded AIA Orange County’s President’s Award, AIA OC’sPublic Service Honor Award, OCBJ Women in Business Award, NAWBO OC “PioneeringWoman” Meteor Award, and many architecture and interior design awards. While remaining committed to the continuing success of Taylor Design as a director, she also pursues her passion for painting and travels with her husband, National Sailing Hall of Famer Dave Ullman.
