Dr. Ray Pentecost is the Director of the Center for Health Systems & Design at Texas A&M University, holder of the George J. Mann Chair of Healthcare Design, with faculty appointments in the schools of architecture, medicine, and public health. Ray is a registered architect, Board Certified in the healthcare architecture specialty, a former nursing home administrator, and an ordained minister. Ray’s work has been recognized with his elevation to Fellow in both the American Institute of Architects (FAIA) and the American College of Healthcare Architects (FACHA).

Ray was recently honored with the prestigious 2022 Changemaker Award, an international award from the Center for Health Design that “honors individuals or organizations that have demonstrated an exceptional ability to change the way healthcare facilities are designed and built, and whose work has a broad impact on the advancement of healthcare design.” Ray was recognized for ”his passion, dedication and leadership in helping to transform architecture’s focus from healthcare to design for health.”
